Bloom Favorite: Vintage Inspiration

I've always been very plain in my own design or decoration, and my wedding motto was "simple elegance." This simple elegance involved clean lines and absolutely no lace! But I'm realizing as I peruse wedding blogs, and design stationery for others that I am more and more drawn to the vintage elements that are a huge trend right now. Perhaps its that I am getting older, or maybe its the sentimentality that is involved when planning weddings, but the connection to family and the past seems to be more important than it used to be. If I had to plan my wedding all over, there would be much more of these beautifully personal vintage elements.

Bloom Listed on WeddingInviteLove

The other day on a blog my husband and I both read was a post about this fantastic new site called WeddingInviteLove. Its a site after my own heart where fellow designers can list their business for all those paper enthusiast brides. Each listing is moderated, and there really are some gorgeous designs out there. The exposure is great, and I am honored to be listed amongst the other businesses. If you have a thing for wedding stationery, enjoy perusing, or just seeing whats out there, check it out! Let me know how I can help you for your event, wedding or otherwise.

Royal Wedding Professional Shots

The event planner I worked with on the 1800's wedding for the Bridal Expo in january had several professional photographers capture the essence of the event and mock reception. Here are a few of my favorite shots. Each photographer captured different details and I love seeing the different perspectives they each had. To see Valerie's post about these photographers, and the rest of the images she chose, on her blog click here. You can also vote on which photographer you feel captured the essence the best by leaving a comment on her blog post!

Another modern take on the old days

My sister-in-law and her fiance are getting married this coming July. Their colors are slate grey and coral, with a prohibition era feel for their Kansas City wedding. They wanted me to play with the fonts in a way that was reminiscent of old bar menus and a lot of the new "old-time-classic-cocktail" rejuvenation happening all over the country.

Here are the Save The Date postcards. The invitations will remain a surprise until guests receive them, but this gives the guests just a taste of what they have to look forward to.
