How well can you Kern?

My Husband sent me this little game online today. I thought it appropriate to share after the letterpress post below. Kerning on the computer is a modern convenience, when typesetting with lead type its much more involved.

Have a go at it.

WeddingInviteLove Lookbook

We are so excited not only to be a part of the WeddingInviteLove online directory, I've gushed on here before about the greatness of the website, but we are also now included in the first ever WeddingInviteLove Lookbook (Fall 2011). You can view it online or order a copy in all of its physical paper glory! We at Bloom love the feel of real paper, but if you want to see it online here it is.

Thank you to Tracy for all her hard work both with the website and the new Lookbook. We LOVE it!

Bloom Favorite Revisited - LemonLime Photography

Those of you who have been following me here for a while may remember my first photography favorite, highlighting LemonLime Photography (you can see the past post on them here.) LemonLime is still a favorite of mine, and yes I may still be biased since they photographed my wedding 5 years ago, but they continue to impress. Today I noticed on their blog that they are featuring my sister-in-law and her husband's wedding in Kansas City this past July. This wedding is the Prohibition Era themed wedding that Bloom created a complete wedding package for. Check out all the amazingly gorgeous photos here.

Bloom Favorite: Its in the details

I am amazed and inspired everyday when I peruse my favorite blogs and see all the attention to detail. The details that some of these brides, wedding planners, grooms, photographers, stationers have come up with allow me to be a kid in a candy store looking through the incredible photos. I've picked out a few the past few days that I would like to share with you, in hopes that not only will you see the endless possibilities, but for you to be inspired and see the joy that the details can bring.

What a unique idea to have a pie contest at your wedding! Brilliant! (pictures found on
GreenWeddingShoes.com)

This Louisville wedding had every perfect detail in place, but I absolutely love the original stationery ideas. (pictures from StyleMePretty.com)

I am a huge fan of photo booths or picture stations at weddings, and think the bride and groom get to remember what amazing people surround them on such an important day, usually with a little flair! (pictures from StyleMePretty.com)

What a beautiful detail for place cards. These really tied the whole theme in while bringing texture to the table. This wedding is nothing, if not creative and full of exciting details. (greenweddingshoes.com)

Bloom Favorite- DIY Weddings and Style Me Pretty

I know I have mentioned before how much I love the Style Me Pretty blog. I have been reading this blog since after my own wedding way back when, ok so it will only be 4 years in August, but feels like a long long time ago. The blog is great and Im completely addicted! So props to them, and to this post that I was reading today. This wedding has so many personal touches I just had to bring light to them. Ping Pong...AWESOME! Chalkboard signs, even better! And custom portraits! I LOVE IT! Style Me Pretty is a great resource for anyone planning their wedding. You can create style guides, and check out dress designers. The inspiration abounds! I may be gushing, but honestly I check this blog almost every day, and if you're planning a wedding, you should too.

Bloom Favorite- Bridal Shower Ideas!

There are so many creative ideas out there now for bridal showers! Afternoon Tea, Something Blue, color themes, honeymoon showers. Think of all the great print pieces that could be added to any shower to jazz it up and pull the theme together. Place cards, gift tags, favor tags, menus, invitations, food cards, the list goes on and on! I get excited everytime I see such beautiful images of these creative showers and the thoughts flood as to how print could be incorporated in to the party atmosphere. Can you see it? Share your ideas for Bridal Showers, or even cool things you've seen done before!
